Gwesty Cymru Hotel Access Statement
The Access Statement for Gwesty Cymru, Aberystwyth is an honest description of the situation, which we hope will enable potential guests to make a decision as to how we meet their needs.
The building is part of a Grade 2 Victorian Terrace and thereby we have restrictions on what we can or cannot do.
The hotel is housed in a Victorian house on the Prom . The hotel is approached from Aberystwyth Promenade with either steps down to reception and the bar or up steps to the accommodation lobby.
There is an internal circular staircase between the ground and upper floors. the first floor. There are also steps from the bar arra to the toilets which are located on the first floor.
Main pathways and access points are dimly lit during the hours of darkness.
There are two WCs on the first floor, accessed via stairs.
The hotel accommodation, located on upper floors, will be inaccessible to wheelchair users as it is not possible to install a suitable lift within the historic fabric of either of the buildings.
Assistance dogs are very welcome and are permitted to stay in our accommodation. There is limited green space for exercising but there is options to walk along the seafront.
We have no designated parking for the hotel. There is on -street parking in front of the hotel but it is time restricted at certain times of the day.
Emergency vehicles can approach the site via Marine Terrace or from the rear via Corporation St.
